Canterbury of Clemson, and our hosts at Holy Trinity Episcopal Parish Clemson, offer a range of options for worship as a community. Together, we use the Book of Common Prayer, which offers set patterns of personal and communal devotions, allowing our theologically diverse church to gather together and worship God with one voice and one heart.

Worship Types

Holy Eucharist

“The Holy Eucharist, the principal act of Christian worship on [Sundays] and other major Feasts.” ~ Book of Common Prayer 1979, pg.13

The service of Holy Eucharist is celebrated each Sunday. As the Book of Common Prayer elaborates, it is the time where the local parish gathers to hear the Holy Scriptures proclaimed, pray for the needs of their community and world, and participate in Holy Communion.

Daily Office

“Daily Morning and Evening Prayer, [are] regular services appointed for public worship in the Church.” ~ Book of Common Prayer 1979, pg. 13

The Daily Office is a structured set of prayers to be used daily, corporately or personally. It includes two major services, Morning and Evening Prayer; with each containing prayers, praises, and Bible readings to form a strong foundation for a Christian life, and shorter services for noon and night.
We often close our Canterbury gatherings with Compline, the Daily Office for Nighttime.

  • Spoken Eucharist

    Sundays at 8:00am (August thru May)

    Holy Trinity Episcopal, Clemson

    A simple Eucharist without music. This service also uses traditional English.

  • Choral Eucharist

    Sundays at 10:30am year round

    Holy Trinity Episcopal, Clemson

    A more elaborate Eucharist with instrumental music, singing, and chanting.

  • Sunday Evening Worship at St. Paul's Historic Church in Pendleton

    See the Holy Trinity website for information about monthly services at historic St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Pendleton. The first Sunday evening of every month usually features a traditional-language Eucharist at 5:00 p.m. Thomas Green Clemson, founder of the University, is buried in the St. Paul’s churchyard—come say “Hi!”
